What is Whole Wheat?
Whole grains are grains, which retain the bran and germ as well as the endosperm, in contrast to refined grains, which retain only the endosperm.
Currently most Americans consume less than half of this recommendation. Only 4% of Americans meet the whole grain recommendation goal.
Bran: outer shell, protects seed fiber, contains B-vitamins and trace minerals
Endosperm: provides energy in the form of carbohydrates and protein
Germ: nourishment for the seed, contains antioxidants, B-vitamins
Fiber: 20-35 grams per day is recommended
Farrelli’s has earned the right to use the above symbol, indicating whole grain produces! For further information and more whole grain products visit
